Online Registration
Introduction
This section provides detailed information about how to properly setup and use your online registration capabilities.
The Registration process is designed to be extremely flexible. This is accomplished through the use of multiple configuration files. Information in these files control how the process works. Some organizations want a common process with consistent forms and information. Other organizations desire extreme flexibility. Both extremes and any combination in between are possible.
A drawback of the flexibility is that it is difficult to document. The best place to start is with some definitions:
- Configuration Files
- Files that contain information about a program or about how a form should look. Users never see configuration files although they will see some information contained within them.

- Information Files
- Text files that contain information such as a code of conduct or how to pay by check. Information files will generally be seen by users.

- Organization Wide Files
- Configuration and information files that apply to the organization that owns the web site.

- Program Specific Files
- Configuration and information files that apply to just a program.

- Payment Methods
- The Online Registration process supports two payment methods, checks and credit cards. Credit card processing requires additional setup and must be configured by the webmaster. Both payment methods allow organization wide or program specific instructions to be displayed when a user selects a payment method.

- Organization decides the following questions:
- Is there a common "Code of Conduct" used by some or all of the programs?

Each program needs to configure several program specific details.
